July might be practically over but I’m here today to share my mid year best and worst. To keep it fair I have only used books that I read through the month of June. I only used one book for each question which was hard but I didn’t want to just share about the same few books.
Best Book

Worst Book

This was a hard choice since I don’t think I’ve read any bad books just books that aren’t for me. I had high hopes for this one but the writing style wasn’t for me. It’s a short Amazon original story with a great premise but too much telling and not enough showing.
New release you haven’t gotten to yet

Most anticipated release for the rest of year

Biggest disappointment

I have read all but one of Adam’s books (and loved them) but this one was a total flop for me. The twist was obvious and ultimately the story was boring and I didn’t enjoy myself. I kept reading in the hopes that something surprising or exciting would happen but it never did.
Biggest surprise

I’ve put this series off for so long since I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it but once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. I was totally swept up in this drama filled story full of toxic relationships. I also did not see the ending coming and I was so shocked I had to take a mini break from reading. As soon as I have another day or two that I can devote mostly to reading I will be picking up the first Daisy Haites book.

Newest favorite character

I’ve been sitting on a review of Mad Mabel since I read an ARC back at the beginning of the year. I absolutely adore Mabel and I could have easily used this book for the next question too. I haven’t been able to write a coherent review of this book other than just rambling about how good it is so you should just read it. I will hopefully be able to come up a decent review for this book soon.
Book that made you cry

Book that made you happy

Most beautiful book you have received this year

The Fairyloot version of this book is stunning. It took my breath away when I opened the box. Currently I’m trying to decide if I want to keep my Fairyloot subscription but I do love how gorgeous almost all of their books are.
