I’ve been trying to think of a way I can share all my thoughts on what I’m currently reading and what I have recently finished that’s not specifically tied to a certain day. So I came up with the not very ingenious idea of a weekly report. I’ve seen this idea around regarding different hobbies and ideas but I just like that I can come to this spot at least once a week and share my opinions.

After a year and a half I can finally say that I have finished War and Peace! I intentionally read this book slowly, in fact my initial aim was one chapter a day, but then life interceded and I went weeks without touching this tome. However, I did enjoy this story and these characters are so beloved to me that I think I was subconsciously not wanting my read of this to end. While I loved the actual story I did find the parts where Tolstoy inserted his ideas about historians and war were unnecessary and took away from the overarching plot.

I received an arc of The Silent Appeal (comes out next month) and I devoured this book. I also already wrote and scheduled my review to come out on publication day. If you enjoyed The Appeal then I do recommend this sequel.

This was a fun take on the slasher trope since it involves the elderly but it was a bit of a mess. The ending was the weakest part of the story which is always a shame. Ultimately it was a good time and I would recommend to someone who is looking for a fresh take on a slasher.

I always like to have a classic that I’m working on because I like to take my time with them and after finishing War and Peace I wanted to pick something completely different. I’ve only read the first section of Paradise but I’m in love with Morrison’s writing. I avoid synopsis as much as I can so I’m not quite sure where this story is going to go but I can already tell that it’s going to hurt.
A month or so ago Netgalley had the entire Ever Seas series available. The first three were read nows and the last was to request. I really try to not request anything since I have way way way too many books on my Netgalley shelf but I do allow myself read nows or books that are emailed to me. Which is toxic and doesn’t make sense but here we are. I am around 75% through The Ever King and I am loving it. I cannot wait to see where this story is going to go and I will happily buy the last book to finish the series. Which in reality translates to me purchasing the whole series for my bookshelves so I guess the publishers knew what they were doing by offering this series up.
I am absolutely in love and obsessed with The Raven Scholar and I am sad that I will only be able to experience it for the first time once. This book is everything that I love and I have run through so many emotions and I’m just over half way. I cannot believe that the sequel to this book doesn’t come out until next year and I’m terrified for the cliffhanger this book probably leaves on.
