Bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris plays ball for a living and breaks hearts for a hobby.

With two championships in as many years, Tyler is the best quarterback in the league. Gorgeous and rich, he’s at the top of his game. Women love him. Men want to be him. Only Tyler’s not feeling the love. In fact, he’s not feeling anything at all. Licking his wounds after a scandal and a breakup with his long-time girlfriend, he retreats to a run-down mansion on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. Once there, Tyler is blindsided by the sassy redhead next door. He knows that he’s met his match and possibly his soulmate. There’s one problem. She despises him.

Lavender Mead has a good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football. Maybe that explains her penchant for bad boys — especially those who play ball. Her new neighbor seems just that type. Yet Tyler’s not the shallow superstar she expected, and she’s inexplicably drawn to football’s bad boy. The two are so hot together, they’re combustible.

As the clock ticks down, can they commit to each other forever? Or will they both fall short of the goal at the last minute?

Will one week be enough?

Maya Forbes has never had a one-night-stand. With her irresponsible but brilliant sister filling the role of flighty one, Maya must live sensibly and dutifully. But when she meets a gorgeous redneck from Panama City Beach who makes her head whirl, she must quit thinking idiotic thoughts about upending her life after one week of mind-altering sex, especially with her dream promotion waiting for her back home.

Bo Harrison has lived his entire life in a tourist town where the women he meets are typically gone in a week. After a long-term relationship that left him mentally drained, he didn’t mind the easy, week-long romances for a while. But watching his best friend fall in love has him thinking along those lines, especially when he meets a woman unlike any he’s ever dated—smart, sexy, independent. The catch? She leaves in one week, of course.

Seacrest Sunsets is book two in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat. All books are standalone and can be enjoyed in or out of order.

Sometimes it’s easy to fall between the cracks…

At 3.04pm on a hot, sticky day in June, Bess finds out she’s pregnant.

She could tell her social worker Henry, but he’s useless.

She should tell her foster mother, Lisa, but she won’t understand.

She really ought to tell Boy, but she hasn’t spoken to him in weeks.

Bess knows more than anyone that love doesn’t come without conditions.

But this isn’t a love story…

Scott King’s podcast investigates the 1995 cold case of a demon possession in a rural Yorkshire village, where a 12-year-old boy was murdered in cold blood by two children. Book six in the chilling, award-winning Six Stories series.

In 1995, the picture-perfect village of Ussalthwaite was the site of one of the most heinous crimes imaginable, in a case that shocked the world. Twelve-year-old Sidney Parsons was savagely murdered by two boys his own age. No reason was ever given for this terrible crime, and the ‘Demonic Duo’ who killed him were imprisoned until their release in 2002, when they were given new identities and lifetime anonymity.

Elusive online journalist Scott King investigates the lead-up and aftermath of the killing, uncovering dark and fanciful stories of demonic possession, and encountering a village torn apart by this unspeakable act.

And, as episodes of his Six Stories podcast begin to air, King himself becomes a target, with dreadful secrets from his own past dredged up and threats escalating to a terrifying level. It becomes clear that whatever drove those two boys to kill is still there, lurking, and the campaign of horror has just begun…

While on the trail of a madman, Antonio Starabba finds something unexpected—the killer’s next victims, tortured, in pain, but alive.

Leila and Karl are both members of The Masters’ Admiralty, the same powerful secret society Antonio is sworn to defend as a security officer—aka assassin. Rescuing them means letting the killer escape, and once they’re safe, Antonio is overcome with a deep need to protect them, and takes them to one of his family’s villas to rest and recover.

As the weeks pass feelings develop between the three of them, but there’s a problem. The killer is still out there, eluding capture, and he’s made it clear that his next victims will be Leila, Karl…and Antonio.

Twenty-five years ago, Robin Hobb’s first novel featuring FitzChivalry Farseer and his mysterious, often maddening friend the Fool struck like a bolt of brilliant lightning. Thus began a beloved saga spanning multiple series, full of adventure, magic, and sinister plots. To celebrate a quarter-century of wonder, this special edition of Assassin’s Apprentice presents a modern classic as it’s never been seen before: in hardcover, with ten beautiful illustrations by Magali Villeneuve.

Young Fitz is the bastard son of the noble Prince Chivalry, raised in the shadow of the royal court by his father’s gruff stableman. He is treated as an outcast by all the royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has him secretly tutored in the arts of the assassin. For in Fitz’s blood runs the magic Skill—and the darker knowledge of a child raised with the stable hounds and rejected by his family.

As barbarous raiders ravage the coasts, Fitz is growing to manhood. Soon he will face his first dangerous, soul-shattering mission. And though some regard him as a threat to the throne, he may just be the key to the survival of the kingdom.

Mike Stewart is a bad boy.

Sleeping around. Boozing. Fighting with teammates. Name a bad behavior and he’s done it—done it so well, in fact, that he almost tanked his career as a starting defensemen for the NHL’s San Francisco Gold.

But Mike is done with all that. He’s starting with a fresh foot forward and putting his past behind him. That is, until his past quite literally reappears before his eyes.

Sara Jetty is just as beautiful as she was a decade before, but Mike hasn’t seen her since she left for the biggest winter international competition and scored a gold medal in women’s figure skating. Now something has put shadows in her eyes, a familiar type of hurt he is all too well versed in. This Sara wants nothing to do with him. Their easy friendship is gone and in its place is a hardened woman who’s nothing like the girl from his past.

Still, Mike hasn’t become a top defensemen in the NHL by being afraid of hard work, and he isn’t about to let Sara push him away. Come hell or high water, he’s going to crack her tough outer shell and find the sweet, innocent woman he’s lusted after and loved, in equal measure, for more than ten years.

From the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of A Thousand Acres and the New York Times best-selling Last Hundred Years Trilogy, a captivating, brilliantly imaginative story of three extraordinary animals–and a young boy–whose lives intersect in Paris

Paras, short for “Perestroika,” is a spirited racehorse at a racetrack west of Paris. One afternoon at dusk, she finds the door of her stall open and–she’s a curious filly–wanders all the way to the City of Light. She’s dazzled and often mystified by the sights, sounds, and smells around her, but she isn’t afraid. Soon she meets an elegant dog, a German shorthaired pointer named Frida, who knows how to get by without attracting the attention of suspicious Parisians. Paras and Frida coexist for a time in the city’s lush green spaces, nourished by Frida’s strategic trips to the vegetable market. They keep company with two irrepressible ducks and an opinionated raven. But then Paras meets a human boy, Etienne, and discovers a new, otherworldly part of Paris: the ivy-walled house where the boy and his nearly-one-hundred-year-old great-grandmother live in seclusion. As the cold weather and Christmas near, the unlikeliest of friendships bloom. But how long can a runaway horse stay undiscovered in Paris? How long can a boy keep her hidden and all to himself? Jane Smiley’s beguiling new novel is itself an adventure that celebrates curiosity, ingenuity, and the desire of all creatures for true love and freedom.

It was the perfect opportunity for Cooper to start fresh in a place where no one knew the mistakes of his past. His patience is tested when the other owner, a beautiful but angry woman, demands to open a bed and breakfast, a situation that would be in direct contrast to his hopes for a refuge in which to build a new life.

Can these two set aside their differences long enough to test the attraction simmering between them? Or will their fighting cost them everything?

Zoe, the quiet writer, has a story she never plans to tell.
Erik won’t quit until he knows every word.

Falling in love is what I do professionally, not personally.
And technically it’s not me falling in love. It’s my characters. I write novels that fly off the shelves, making up imaginary happily ever afters to fill the hole where my own should be.

Spoiler: I’m never going to have one of those.

Instead, I go to bed each night safely fantasizing about Erik, the sexy second baseman I have no intention of sleeping with because, like I said, I write romances, I don’t live them.
***
For three years I’ve had a crush on a woman who wants nothing to do with me.
And that’s fine. I don’t need the distraction of a beautiful, sexy, brilliant writer. I’m busy building a team to win a championship. I never expected to make it as a professional ballplayer and this is my one shot at a dream come true.

Aw, hell. Who am I kidding? I want the championship and I want the girl. I’m patient enough to wait for both. The moment Zoe decides she’s ready to date I’ll be the first one in line … and I’ll do whatever it takes to prove to her I’m the only man she needs.

Ever again.

I loved him before I knew what the word meant.
From skinned knees to first dates and everything in between.
But he was never mine to love.
I settled for friendship, even though I always wanted more.

That was before.
Before he ripped my world apart and didn’t bother sticking around to help me pick up the pieces.
I knit every last shred back together all on my own.
And I’ve all but forgotten his name.

Now, he’s back, and everything is torn apart once more.
But he’s not the only one doing the tearing this time.
And there might be no stopping the person who has it out for us both.

*No synopsis since this is a part of a series and I don’t know if it spoils anything.

Returning to Ireland to reclaim a painting that is part of his patrimony, a thirty-eight-year-old man commits a ghastly and motiveless murder, which he confesses in a novel-length narrative.

Lucky.

The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and my team owner is talking about trading me.

I’ve never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be.

Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year’s Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game—that’s three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not talking about it.

I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want.

She always wanted everything her big sister had.

Evie Laurent grew up in the shadow of her perfect older sister, Luna. Evie longed to be a part of the “cool kids” that Luna ran with.

Luna Laurent never saw her little sister as more than a pesky tattle-tale, which, let’s be honest, is exactly what Evie was. The kid could NOT keep a secret.

Evie is all grown up now, and living with Kyle Turner, one of the cool kids. Kyle’s rebellious antics aren’t aging well, but Evie is in denial. He was her first crush, from back when he was hotter than a pre-scandal Johnny Depp.

Evie goes against Kyle’s wishes and buys a house that feels eerily familiar. She remembers being there before, at a party.

Kyle, Luna, and the rest of the gang swear that none of them have been to the house, but they can’t explain the evidence Evie finds. She’s definitely been there. With all of them.

Now Evie’s obsessed with figuring out what happened at a house party twenty years ago, Luna’s sleeping with yet another one of her therapists, and one of the cool kids may be a stone-cold killer.

The Laurent sisters are just trying to have a Hot Girl Summer, but it’s hard to be hot when someone is trying to kill you.

I’ll be watching you.

Walking home on a dark night, you hear footsteps coming up behind you. As they get closer, your heart pounds harder. Who is closing in with dangerous intent — a total stranger? Or someone you know and trust? The answer is as simple as turning around, but don’t look behind you…run.

Ann Rule, who shared her own nerve-jangling account of unknowingly befriending sadistic sociopath Ted Bundy in The Stranger Beside Me, chronicles other fateful encounters with the hidden predators among us in this riveting collection, fifteenth in the bestselling series drawn from her personal files.

First in line is a stunning case that spanned thirty years and took a determined detective to four states — ending, finally, in Alaska — where he unravelled not one but two murders.

A second case appears to begin and end with the hunt for the Green River Killer, focusing on a Washington State man who was once cleared as a suspect in that deadly chain of homicides. But the millionaire property owner believed he had successfully buried his own murderous past and the awful truth behind his young wife’s disappearance. She vanished soon after she left for a day at the Seattle World’s Fair, and her three small children grew up believing their mother had abandoned them. But one amazing witness remained — the missing woman’s best friend, who heard her last words in a frantic phone call — “He’s coming!” — before the line went dead. Only since Robert Hansen’s suicide has the monster within been revealed.

In another true story, a petite woman went to a tavern, looking only for conversation and fun. Instead, she met violent death in the form of a seven-foot man who had seemed shy and harmless. You’ll feel a chill as you uncover these and numerous other cases of unfortunate victims who made one tragic mistake: trusting the wrong person — even someone they’d known intimately, or thought they knew.

WILL A SHY ARTIST AND A CHEESE-LOVING BILLIONAIRE FIND LOVE CHASING A DREAM?
Paige spends her days working at a job she doesn’t like and spends her evenings working on her art and launching an online graphic design business—using a nickname so her day job won’t find out. Her quiet, solitary life is interrupted when she meets a handsome jogger on the trails, and he asks her out. She’s never been good at talking to strangers, but he is worth the effort.
Mac dreams of watching people enjoy his food and decides it’s time to make that happen. Exchanging emails becomes a highlight of his day until he spots a woman on the trails sketching a fairy tale scene. He’s captivated and asks her out. Conversation is difficult with her one-word answers, but he’s interested enough to keep trying.
One date leads to another, and Mac feels guilty about spending time with the artist while exchanging emails with the designer, but his relationship with the designer is strictly professional. Or so he keeps telling himself. But soon, Mac is more excited about surprising Paige with his food truck than he is about meeting the designer when the truck opens. But opening night doesn’t go as planned, and Mac chases what’s important. The choice is easy. Convincing her may be a bit harder.

David Player has spent 30 years trying to forget the traumas of his childhood. The threats, the kidnappings, the murders. The imagined curses of a people born centuries earlier, passed from father to son, mother to daughter, generation to generation. Its climax came in human form, a monster of a man, one of the most notorious serial killers the nation has ever seen: Pee Wee Gaskins. And Gaskins had a particular hatred for the Player family, then for David, himself, who barely escaped those years with his own life intact.

Now David is back, his four children in tow, visiting his parents’ home, a place he has learned to cherish despite the evils that haunted his younger days. But no sooner does he return than a stranger visits their doorstep, the son of Pee Wee Gaskins. In a terrifying display, right in front of the kids, the man utters threats until he chokes on his own tongue, sparking a series of events that drag David and his family back into the days of curses and murders, onto a path of unimaginable terror, all too familiar.

That path leads to an old gothic tower in the woods, a place David had blocked from his memory, a house of horrors both past and present. The House of Tongues.

Norman Mailer’s Pulitzer Prize-winning and unforgettable classic about convicted killer Gary Gilmore now in a brand-new edition.

Arguably the greatest book from America’s most heroically ambitious writer, The Executioner’s Songfollows the short, blighted life of Gary Gilmore who became famous after he robbed two men in 1976 and killed them in cold blood. After being tried and convicted, he immediately insisted on being executed for his crime. To do so, he fought a system that seemed intent on keeping him alive long after it had sentenced him to death. And that fight for the right to die is what made him famous.

Mailer tells not only Gilmore’s story, but those of the men and women caught in the web of his life and drawn into his procession toward the firing squad. All with implacable authority, steely compassion, and a restraint that evokes the parched landscape and stern theology of Gilmore’s Utah. The Executioner’s Song is a trip down the wrong side of the tracks to the deepest source of American loneliness and violence. It is a towering achievement-impossible to put down, impossible to forget.

When Julia’s loyalty to her brother conflicts with her growing feelings for Colin, she must choose between love and family. Either way, her world will never be the same.

Mason Remington fell in love with his little brother’s best friend, Gina, when she was still in high school. It seemed they’d found their forever early in life. But somehow it all went wrong. Now — ten years later — Gina’s back in town. This time he doesn’t intend to let her leave.

Mason spent the years he lost with Gina building a business, breeding and training horses, and helping keep his family’s ranch going. Gina threw herself into a life in New York City where she has a career as a photographer… and a fiancé.

Gina needs to sell the ranch where she grew up and move her dad to New York. When she returns to Paradise Valley to finally close that chapter of her life, the last person she wants to see is the man who broke her heart all those years ago.

Mason isn’t going to let the only woman he’s ever loved walk out of his life forever without explaining what went wrong. He never understood why she left. Now he has one last shot to make her stay.
