Book hauls

December weekly kindle haul #3

Happy Sunday! Things were so hectic last week that there was a few days where I didn’t even look at the Kindle sales which is why this haul is going to be an extremely short haul (for me). I bought three books this week bringing my total to 11. My goal is to only buy 13 so we will see if I can stick with it!

Is it a truth universally known that a girl must compete on reality TV to win a modern-day Mr. Darcy’s heart?

Clothing designer Emma Brady is having serious doubts about how far she’ll go to promote her new activewear line. Sure, being on a reality show would be great for business, but is putting up with Mr. Darcy-wannabe Sebastian Huntington-Ross really worth it?

Sebastian is straight out of an Austen novel. But it’s hard to focus on his chiseled jaw, broad shoulders and wickedly sexy accent when all Emma can see is his pride, arrogance, and smug demeanor.

But Sebastian has a secret reason for being on the show, and when Emma figures out what it is, her heart warms to him — without her permission.

Will Emma hold fast and keep the aristocratic Sebastian at arm’s length? Or will she put her reservations aside when the lines between reality and “reality show” start to blur?

Dating Mr. Darcy is a laugh-out-loud feel-good rom com for fans of Bridget Jones’s Diary, Sophie Ranald, and Sophie Kinsella.

They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.

Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend… and a big one to learn about himself.

Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

Stand-alone Crossroads romance, complete with HEA–and plenty of heat and heart along the way!

With her Type A personality, Bea Porter meticulously planned her friend Bailey’s bachelorette party in Vegas. Her plans did not include receiving contraception in the lobby of the hotel, walking in on two naked people (one of them dripping wet) and sustaining a head injury less than an hour after arriving in sin city.

World Series MVP CJ Rossum hadn’t planned on attending his sister Bailey’s bachelorette party. He also hadn’t planned on meeting a girl with eyes so blue they rivaled the Mediterranean, or claiming that girl was his girlfriend when he didn’t even know her name or making a pinky promise he knew he couldn’t keep.

Sometimes life and love have plans of their own.

Author of Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash Tasha Suri’s The Jasmine Throne, beginning a new trilogy set in a world inspired by the history and epics of India, in which a captive princess and a maidservant in possession of forbidden magic become unlikely allies on a dark journey to save their empire from the princess’s traitor brother.

Imprisoned by her dictator brother, Malini spends her days in isolation in the Hirana: an ancient temple that was once the source of the powerful, magical deathless waters — but is now little more than a decaying ruin.

Priya is a maidservant, one among several who make the treacherous journey to the top of the Hirana every night to clean Malini’s chambers. She is happy to be an anonymous drudge, so long as it keeps anyone from guessing the dangerous secret she hides.

But when Malini accidentally bears witness to Priya’s true nature, their destinies become irrevocably tangled. One is a vengeful princess seeking to depose her brother from his throne. The other is a priestess seeking to find her family. Together, they will change the fate of an empire.

Rule #1: Do not sleep with your best friend
Rule #2: If you sleep with your best friend, sneak out like a thief in the night and hop a plane to another continent to avoid embarrassment
Rule #3: Once safely on another continent, do not answer your phone, text messages, or email. In fact, you should burn them all
Rule #4: Pretend that night and your entire friendship never existed and start a whole new life
Rule #5: Do not, under any circumstances, return to the scene of the crime…

I have kept these five simple, totally reasonable rules for the last six months, focusing all my energy on my new job at Vector Racing. A full Atlantic Ocean away from Hunter Holland and my great big terrible mistake.
I would rather end our friendship than face being friend-zoned by the handsome shortstop with magical hands that gave me a night I’ll never forget. (Seriously, I didn’t know that could be so good… *shivers*)
But now I’m in very real danger of breaking Rule #5. My boss is dragging me back across the ocean for a meeting with the Mantas where I’ll be forced to hide in the shadows and creep around every corner just in case Hunter isn’t with the team in Seattle. Which of course he will be. Why wouldn’t he?

No one knows Tilley Villanueva better than I do. Which is why I’m not mad she ghosted me after the best night of my life. I know she’s freaking out and probably has a whole set of rules she created to help deal. She’s cute like that.
That’s why I made my own set of rules. The only way to fight fire is with fire. One of these days I’m going to get Tilley alone again, and when I do, all bets are off.

*Naked is a crossover novella containing characters and places from The Storm Inside and Wild Pitch series. You do not have to read these series to enjoy Naked!
