What are you currently reading?
I’m finally reading ACOTAR for the first time! I knew going into it that I probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much as Crescent City and that is proving to be true. I actually think this book is pretty boring and repetitive. I have read through Chapter 19 and I can count on one hand the amount of things that have happened. Which would be fine but I also don’t really care for any of the characters. Nothing they do makes sense and everything feels so forced between everyone. With that being said I’m not hating reading it and I actually find it impressive how much Maas’s writing has improved since this book. I do expect once I pass the half way point that things will pick up but for right now I’m just enjoying reading a few chapters a day this week.
I’m about a quarter of the way through Soulless and it is so far different than the other books in the series. This one has been a lot of telling and not a lot of anything significant happening. What I enjoy about this series is that I never know where Frazier is going to take the story which keeps me wanting to read them.
What have you recently finished reading?
Tell No Lies by Allison Brennan
I finished and absolutely loved Wolf Hall. My review for this will be up on Friday. I’m looking forward to picking up the second book in this trilogy next month.
I did try to to read The Fiddler by Beverly Lewis and I ended up DNF’ing it pretty quickly. I don’t know what it is but something about the writing was rubbing me the wrong way. I might try another Beverly Lewis book in the future but I don’t want to put myself into a slump by reading something I’m just not enjoying.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I own quite a few Jeff Vandermeer books because I hear such amazing things about them but this will be the first one that I read. I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Netgalley (although this book already came out earlier this month) and I want to make sure that I get to it this month.
Tell No Lies looks really good! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
