Welcome back to another week of WWW. To take part all you need to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What do you think you will read next?
David Copperfield: I am reading this for the Tome Topple readathon. There has been a lot going on in my life this past week so I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to reading. I am around 130 pages in so I really need to get a move on. I was hoping to have this finished by today so I could start my next tome to stay on track with what I want to read for the readathon. Also, I am so familiar with this story that I am annoyed that I can’t remember if I read this book before or if I read it from one of the illustrated children’s classic editions when I was in elementary school. Either way the writing in this book is incredible and it is easy to see why he is considered one of the best writers of all time.
Women Race & Class: I am still slowly working my way through this book. This is one of those books that makes me stop and really reflect and think about what I am learning. I stopped taking notes for it because every single line is so important. This is one of those books that everyone should read at least once. To be honest, this book should be taught in schools and it makes me mad that it isn’t. There is so much incredible history that I am learning for the first time which really shocks me because I took a Women’s History class one semester in college. Everything that I learned was through the lens of whiteness and this book is a revelation.
What have you recently finished reading?
I finished this book over the weekend and I gave it four stars. It is not a perfect story but it a horror novel that consistently creeped me out. I also really liked the characters and it was easy to imagine them as some well known horror authors. If I can get caught up with everything that I am falling behind on then I will have my review for this up next week.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I am so excited to finally read this book! I have been talking about it with a few people on Instagram and they all rave about it. I hope that I will just fly through this book and I am expecting it is going to be a five star read.
These books look so good. I love the cover of Kill Creek. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
