This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. All you need to do to participate is answer the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What have you recently finished reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am just a little way through this and it is so good! The writing is so descriptive and at times very creepy. There has already been a few moments of horror that I have happily cringed from. I can’t wait to get more immersed in the story and see what other frights await me.

What have you recently finished?

Sick Fux by Tillie Cole is a DARK romance that comes with a lot of trigger warnings. I will forever love Rabbit and Dolly but they are messed up characters who have had horrific things happen to them (on page) and they do bad things to bad people. I have taken to describing this book as in Alice in Wonderland inspired Natural Born Killers romance. I will link my Instagram post where I give my initial review and where I give detailed trigger warnings. I gave this four stars.

I already talked about Thunderhead and Priory here so if you want to see my full thoughts you can check it out. I gave Thunderhead five stars and Priory four.

If We Were Villains is one of my top books of the year, if not the top book. This book is The Secret History but with Shakespeare, so if you loved that book you need to read this one. Dark academia is quickly becoming one of my favorite sub genres in the mystery/ crime fiction category. I will have a full review coming soon so be on the look out for that! No surprise, I gave this five stars.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I didn’t have a chance to read The Vanishing Stair last week so if I finish Kill Creek before  the Tome Topple readathon starts than I will pick it up. I put the last book in the trilogy, The Hand on the Wall, on my August TBR so I will for sure be reading it this month. I’m excited to finish the series and I think it will be a nice change of pace after reading nothing but big books for two weeks.

Obviously, David Copperfield is for the readathon but it is also my Pet Pick for August’s TBR. I put treats on all the books I want to read for Tome Topple and this is the one she went for first. I am really looking forward to reading this and I expect it to be a five star read.
