It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for my favorite weekly meme! We are also in the middle of round 6 of Contemporary-a-thon so that’s what all my books this week will be centered around. This meme is hosted by Sam at Taking of a World of Words and all you need to do to participate is answer 3 questions:
What are you currently reading
I am so close to finishing this! So far I am absolutely captivated by the story and how talented Elizabeth Acevedo is. I am reading this for the Contemporary-a-thon challenge to read a book with an illustrated cover. I, embarrassingly, had picked an historical fiction novel to read for this prompt *facepalm* I don’t know what I was thinking but I went to pick that book up (Bringing Down the Duke) and was confused at the choice I made. So, I looked to my shelf and picked this book up. Which has an absolutely stunning cover and an equally beautiful story.
What did you recently finish reading?
I thought this was a decent YA Contemporary with a sci-fi twist. However, I am someone who cries at everything and this book gave me no feels. I really struggle connecting with teenage boy protagonists, which is interesting since I am a boy mom, but I think the problem here was more with the writing. Obviously I am not the target audience for the book so take my words with a grain of salt. Oh, I read this book for the challenge of reading a new to me author.
What do you think you will read next?
This is my pick for a book with green on the cover. I am so excited to read this because people rave about it so much. I’m also ready to read some adult contemporary because I’m don’t read too much YA anymore and my last two reads have been YA.
I felt the same way about They Both Die at the End! So you’re definitely not alone in that. I’ve heard great things about With the Fire On High, and I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying it so far. Happy reading!
Here’s my WWW post.

Love the cover of With the Fire on High, like I’d buy the book just because of the cover. 🙂

I haven’t read any of these but I’ve been wanting to read the first and last one – both look really good!
