This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and all you need to do to participate is answer the following three questions.

What are you currently reading?

I had a busy weekend followed by being under the weather the past couple of days so this will be a short reading wrap up. I’m still reading all the books I shared last week but I’ve added in The Devil in the Dark Water. Alison on a Book Break (Youtube) is hosting a readalong for this book. It’s not as good as his debut, The Seven and a Half Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle but I can still see his style shining through. I’m excited to see where this story is going to and I have a feeling that Turton has already laid the ending and I haven’t picked up on it.

What have you recently finished?

These were my Halloweekendathon reads. I gave Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke four stars. It was really interesting and I enjoyed the themes. The Case Against Satan was a five star read for me and another one with very interesting themes.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Some doors are locked for a reason…

While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

Until the day the police arrived at their front door.

Decades later, Nora’s father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.

Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.

Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her.

As long as they don’t look in her basement.
