Review
I am so grateful that I decided to sign up for the blog tour for Twisted Demands. And that Give Me Books PR was gracious enough to offer me the first two books in this series because I am now obsessed with these books. I started the first book, Indecent Demands, at bedtime one night and had to force myself to finally go to sleep after I read 60% so I would’t be a total zombie the next day. And then I quickly gobbled up the rest of the book as soon as I could the next day. I then preceded to read the next two books over the next couple of days. Everything about this series works for me and Wray has quickly moved up to be one of my top three favorite romance authors.
This series must be read in order because while each romance is separate there is a serial killer storyline running throughout all the books. The first book, Indecent Demands, starts the story off with Casanova already having abducted a few women and the rest of the series picks up from there. Wray actually introduces Casanova’s perspective in the second one and it only served to amp up the suspense and tension of him. I would have loved these romances even without the Casanova element but the addition of the mystery of who is behind kidnapping the women propelled these books to an even greater height. Every single chapter of these books held my attention and never let go.
And the romances were equally as spectacular. There is something about alpha males who are used to getting their way and only showing their softer side to one woman that just gets me. I was utterly swooning over these men and the way they treated their women. All three romances are hate to love and all couples have a backstory of why they don’t get along that we quickly find out about. I loved that Wray didn’t drag things out and once barriers had been broken down there was open communication, for the most part.
Wray also did a fantastic job creating this world that felt so vivid and real that I was captivated from the first chapter. Her writing was so immersive and I could easily feel myself in every situation that she described. For example, there is a scene in the second book, Wicked Demands, that takes place during a football game and I felt like I was sitting there next to our female main character, Camrynn, the whole time. Wray also did a brilliant job with balancing the emotions of the couples with the dominant sides of the men. And while each romance could have felt too alike Wray did such a good job of having similar elements but different tropes and behaviors for each one that all three feel completely unique.
If you have read and loved the Madison Kate series by Tate James then you must give these books a read. While this is three separate romances and not a why choose scenario the overarching themes of stalkers and killers is just as present in both books. And if you haven’t read that one but love dark romance then I highly recommend this series. The first book, Indecent Demands, is a forbidden step sibling romance. The second book, Wicked Demands, is a billionaire and sport romance. The third book, Twisted Demands, is the last book in the series so we find out all the answers and is also a close proximity romance. I devoured this series and I wouldn’t mind rereading them all again in the near future. In the meantime, Wray, has a couple other series that I will be diving into.
