Stitching

Stitching Saturday 6.25.22

I did a bit of stitching this week so I’m back to share my progress. I had such lofty goals last week but this week I spent mostly knitting! My fabric for the full coverage piece I wanted to start came in a lot earlier than expected so I did get a decent start on it one day.

I did just over 400 tent stitches on 22ct and made a start on the top left corner bookshelf. This was my first time stitching on 22 ct and I love it. I did buy some 25ct for my next full coverage start once I get about 1,600 stitches on this. I’m interested in seeing how I feel about 25 ct and how it compares to 22 ct.

I didn’t do much on this except for fill in some more on March’s butterfly. I would love to catch up on this but at the same time I’m not really making it a priority.

I worked on this for one day this week and ran into a problem. I have a counting mistake on the big snowflake on the right so it has thrown off the smaller snowflakes below it. I will for sure be frogging the one right above Santa and maybe the one to the right of Santa too once I stitch in his hat. It should be a quick fix though so I’m not too bothered about it.

It’s been awhile since I had a morning stitch so I’ve decided to adopt the 25/7 approach. You stitch on a project every day for 25 minutes until you finish or reach your goal on it. And I’ve decided (for at least next week) to use this project for it. I’m looking forward to seeing how much progress I can make with this approach.

I included my knitting this week! Mostly because I’m super frustrated with it. I’ve stitched magic loop sleeves before but for some reason I have a huge mental block the past couple of days. I’m close to putting this project in time out and pulling another one out of my endless WIP basket.

PLANS

July 1st is the start of the Tour de France and Full Coverage Fanatics has a yearly event to stitch alongside it. There are a few different options for participating but I will be doing the one where you do one stitch for every km they ride. Overall it will be over 3,000 stitches. And the project I picked for the event is this one. If you’ve been around for awhile you know I recently restarted this one and I’m looking forward to regaining some progress on it. Originally, I was aiming for a finish on this one but now that plan has moved to next year. And 3,000 stitches will get me a lot closer to that goal.
