It has been a long time since I have put together one of these posts! It is always one of my favorites to do and read so I’m happy to be back on the bandwagon. This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and all you need to do to participate is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I recently got an audible subscription since I have recently discovered a love of listening to books while I knit or cross stitch and Killer Jam was added to my library so I must have gotten the audiobook free when I purchased this book way back when. Killer Jam is the start of a cozy mystery series involving farm life and homesteading. The narrator does a great job of making everything sound interesting and I am enjoying our heroine work on the farm and solve the crime of who murdered a lady no one liked in town. One annoying aspect of this story is that every time the sheriff is in a scene the author always has to describe how large he is. I don’t understand why authors do that since it doesn’t add anything to the story.
This month my TBR is filled with ARC’s for ARC August and To Tell You the Truth is one that I have shamefully had for a year. I am so close to the end of this book and I am saving the end to savor when my kids are in bed and the house is quiet. One of my favorite tropes is an unreliable narrator and this book does it magnificently. Fingers crossed I love the ending!
What have you recently finished?
I read a fair amount of books since my last WWW post so I thought it would be better to just share what I have finished since August started. I posted my review for this book yesterday which you can check out here.
What do you think you’ll read next?
This is another old ARC that I have and really want to get to. I previously tried to read this book before but couldn’t get past the first chapter because I was having a hard time getting into books back then so I am hopeful that I can actually get into it now. I checked the audiobook out from my library so I can both listen to it and read it physically.
I love Gilly Macmillan’s books, and really enjoyed To Tell You the Truth. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

This was my third book by Gilly Macmillian and unfortunately I really didn’t like the ending of this one. I did really enjoy the other two books by her so I will continue on reading her 😀

I hope you and “Marion Lane” make it this time. It’s a funny thing about books, isn’t it? Those first pages are like a blind date. Your friends may tell you he’s the nicest guy and perfect for you, but if the chemistry isn’t there … And it’s all about timing. The right book needs to hit you at the right time. So I hope this time it’s a launch. 🙂

Ha I love this!! It’s so true! I decided to listen to it this time and I just realized that it involves an underground school like setting for private eyes and I’m kicking myself for not reading it earlier 😂

I also love the unreliable narrator trope if done well. I’ll have to look into that one!
