This fun weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and all you need to do to participate is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What have you recently finished reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
My buddy reading group is reading A Court of Mist and Fury this week and I was a little worried because I found the first ten percent incredibly boring but thankfully it has picked up a lot. I’m a little behind the rest of my group so I only just started part two but I have high hopes that I will like this book way more then I did ACOTAR.
I started reading Hummingbird Salamander last month and then I put it down for some reason. I recently picked it back up and I’m still really enjoying the story even though I have no clue where the story is going. This is my first Vandermeer book so I have no clue how it stands up next to his other works but his style of writing reminds me a lot of Chuck Palahniuk.
What have you recently finished reading?
Talk Bookish to Me by Kate Bromley
The Nesting is a fantastic introduction to Nordic Noir and I gave it five stars. I am so behind on reviews and I have a stacked blog tour schedule coming up but I do hope to have a review for this up next month. I gave it five stars.
Get a Life, Chloe Brown is one of my favorite romances I have read and definitely my top favorite of this year. I again want to have a review of this up next month and this was an obvious five star read. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series next month.
I received an ARC of Just One Look from Netgalley so I will have my review for this up on or near it’s publication date, July 27. This is a seriously engrossing, captivating and creepy tale with a main character that makes you cringe that you are actually rooting for. Think a less terrifying Joe from You by Caroline Kepnes (no wonder they blurbed her on the cover!). I gave this five stars.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I will be spending today and tomorrow reading You Will Remember Me for a blog tour post on Friday. The synopsis of this sounds so good and it has such a high rating on Goodreads that I feel like I might just fly through this one tonight.
After I finish the previous book I will be picking up Real Men Knit since it is almost the end of the month and I would love knock another book off my Pop Culture Readathon TBR.
