WWW Wednesday 9/30

I can’t believe that it is the last day of September! Every month since March feels like it takes eons to get through but this month in particular felt loooonng. I started the month off in a slump but the past week I have really seen a reemergence of my reading and I have been flying through books. These WWW posts are some of my favorite to read and I’m excited that I have finally been reading enough to join in again!

To participate in this fun weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words all you need to do is answer the following three questions:

-What are you currently reading?

-What did you recently finish reading?

-What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m about halfway through this harrowing and heartbreaking read. Chanel Miller has such a gift for words and really putting the reader into her head. Chanel is a rape survivor and this memoir is her account of the events of that day and all the events that followed through the trial and the despicable sentence that her rapist got. This book should be required reading in all high schools and college because she paints such a vivid image of what it is like and what it means to be a survivor.

What did you recently finish reading?

Buzzwordathon Wrap Up

I will be talking more about The Deep in my September wrap up coming this Saturday but I really enjoyed this one. It is such a creative way to show generational trauma and I really love how the backstory behind how this novella came to be. It took me three weeks to read the first half of this 176 page book but once I broke through my slump I read the last half in less than a day.

What do you think you’ll read next?

In October, I will be participating in THREE readathons, which I will be sharing in my TBR tomorrow but I’m waiting until I finish reading Know Your Name to choose which book of that stack that I will be reading. However, the Victober Goodreads group that I am a part of is buddy reading Shirley all month long. I read Jane Eyre (which I’m also hoping to read next month) way back in high school so I barely remember the story but I do remember loving it. I have had Shirley on my shelves for so long I don’t even remember where I got it, other than a used bookstore, so I am excited to have a reason to finally get into it.
