This Wicked Villains world that Katee Roberts has created is my favorite fairytale retelling. It is so genius because it plays on our preconceived notions of the characters. This book in particular is an obvious Little Mermaid retelling and I love the idea of it. Zurielle (Ariel), Alaric (Eric) and Ursa (Ursula) all have such an intense emotion and sexual connection that made this story so easy to fall in love with. The story starts with Zurielle traveling from Triton to Carver City to make a deal with Ursa. Zurielle has previously met Alaric when he was in Carver City but he owes a debt to Hades that leaves him in servitude. To free him from this debt Zurielle knows that Ursa is the only one who can help her free him.

Robert always does an incredible job writing her characters and I loved seeing all three of them develop into more during the course of this book. Which is especially remarkable since this whole story takes place in only a week. For the most part, the pacing of this book is spectacular, but I do think the end was rushed and left me wanting more. This is a BDSM romance but it is definitely on the tamer side of things and the consent of all the participants was evident which I appreciated.

I highly recommend this book to all my fellow romance lovers. It is short with amazing chemistry and the Wicked Villains world is endlessly fascinating.
