Thanksgiving TBR

If you are like me and enjoy reading books centered around specific holidays then I hope you are able to find at least one book of this list to cozy up with this next week as we cruise into Thanksgiving. I have a mix of romance and cozy mystery but I would love to find some horror books to add to this TBR.

Thanksgiving is Bailey King’s busiest holiday weekend. This year promises to be even more hectic, since Bailey’s candy shop, Swissmen Sweets, is providing desserts for Harvest, Ohio’s first village-wide Thanksgiving celebration. Yet, even with a guest list close to seven hundred people—Amish and English alike—the event’s organizer, Margot Rawlings, is unfazed . . . until she discovers her mother, former judge Zara Bevan, will be in attendance.

Zara’s reputation as a harsh critic is matched only by her infamy as a judge who has actively harmed the Amish community. So no one is prepared when Zara arrives with much younger boyfriend Blaze Smith and reveals their impending nuptials at dinner. That should have been the day’s biggest news, except shortly after the announcement, Blaze suffers an allergic reaction to something he’s eaten and dies on the spot.

Now, Bailey’s desserts are prime suspects, along with Margot and nearly everyone who attended the meal. With such a cornucopia of possibilities, Bailey must dig in and get to the bottom of this murder, before the killer goes up for seconds…

Amazon All Star author and USA Today Bestselling author Tonya Kappes brings you southern and quirky characters in her mystery series. Her stories are charged with humor, friendship, family and life in small southern towns.

Mae West is bound and determined to stay in shape for her wedding day and with all the delicious southern dessert Mary Elizabeth is serving for Thanksgiving Mae has joined the local running group to race in Thanksgiving’s annual Turkey Trot.

She never figured murder would be on the menu and a couple of people she loves have a perfect motive.

The list of suspects isn’t exactly brief especially when one of the governor’s recently pardoned prisoner is at the top of the list. Mae has a pretty full plate between trying to plan a wedding that will satisfy everyone, keeping Dottie in line as well as trying to get a long with her future mother in law.

So what’s a little investigation to keep her mind off things? If Mae’s not careful, she may find herself served up as a last-minute course with all the trimmings.

I’m giving all my thanks this holiday season to my thick, brawny boss…

Thoren Falk is the heart and soul behind Falk’s Fikabröd, the beloved Swedish bakery in Deepwood Mountain.

But to me, he’s so much more—the shy, older Viking of my dreams with icy blue eyes and rugged hands that make my stomach do cartwheels.

When Thoren’s family arrives for their first American Thanksgiving, they assume I’m his girlfriend. To save him from his mother’s relentless matchmaking, he begs me to play along. Even promising a hefty raise.

Easy as pie. Or should I say, paj.

The problem is there’s no faking how much I enjoy spending time with him and his family in his cozy mountain cabin, preparing meals and learning Swedish traditions.

The line between pretend and real starts to blur.

Every stolen glance and lingering touch make it harder to keep up the act.

I’m having too much fun being Thoren’s girlfriend to let it end, and deep down, I’m hoping he feels the same.

Stuffed is a short, steamy, holiday romance with a burly Nordic baker who never imagined his beautiful young assistant could want him. But as Thanksgiving unfolds, Thoren discovers he has a lot more to be thankful for…

The hottest player on the Moo U hockey team hangs a flyer on the bulletin board, and I am spellbound:

Rent a boyfriend for the holiday. For $25, I will be your Thanksgiving date. I will talk hockey with your dad. I will bring your mother flowers. I will be polite, and wear a nicely ironed shirt…

Now everyone knows it’s a bad idea to introduce your long-time crush to your messed-up family. But I really do need a date for Thanksgiving, even if I’m not willing to say why. So I tear his phone number off of that flyer… and accidentally entangle our star defenseman in a ruse that neither of us can easily unwind.

Because Weston’s family is even nuttier than mine. He needs a date, too, for the most uncomfortable holiday engagement party ever thrown.

There will be hors d’oeuvre. There will be faked PDA. And there will be pro-level awkwardness…

The newest novel in the USA Today bestselling series finds Jessica Fletcher cooking up a heartwarming holiday dinner-and a fresh serving of trouble…

Jessica Fletcher would like nothing more than to sit back and relax as Thanksgiving comes to Cabot Cove. But this year, she’s already got more on her plate than she can handle.

Jessica is suffering from a rare case of writer’s block, and the deadline for her new novel is fast approaching. Also, her friend, Scotland Yard Inspector George Sutherland, is coming from London to experience the American holiday. But most distressing of all, Jessica is hosting a bountiful Thanksgiving dinner for a guest list that is growing by the day.

Jessica carries on toward her culinary conquest, and she couldn’t be more thankful about the results. Until she and George take a post-turkey stroll and stumble upon the body of a man with a carving knife stuck in his chest…
