I think Summer technically ends September 22 (my middle son’s birthday!) but I feel like with schools back or almost back in session and the start of September people are already feeling the Fall vibes. So I thought I would put together a list of books that I absolutely adored that would be perfect to squeeze in before you start transitioning to Fall. But of course these books can be read at any time so really it’s just an excuse for me to talk about some of my favorite books.
Disclaimer: I didn’t want to be too repetitive so I didn’t include any books that I put on my 2024 favorites post from a couple of days ago.

Emily Henry is hands down one of my favorite authors of all time and any of these books would make the perfect summer read. She perfectly balances hilarious light moments with beautiful and tender moments that make me cry. I’m an actual mess of a person when I read her books and my family is always asking me what I’m reading because I alternate between laughing out loud, audibly swooning, and crying. Henry just hits that spot in my heart that makes me feel all the emotions and few stories feel as real to me as hers do.
Also, I meant to add Happy Place and Book Lovers on my favorites list as books that have made me the most emotional but I forgot. Which inspired this post today so I guess everything happens for a reason?!

This book takes place on an Australian island so it gives the summer vibes but also kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

This was a domestic thriller that truly shocked me by how much I loved it. I was so caught up in the story and trying to figure out what was happening. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going I was surprised.

Every Megan Miranda book I’ve read I’ve given four stars. She is the queen of an atmospheric twisty thriller and all of the ones I’ve read are set in summer.
