Last week was a very successful week of reading for me. I loved everything that I read and made some progress on a few series that I’m in the middle of. I read three books for the weekend readathons of Smut Den and the Final Book Support Group.

I used the dark romance wheel which had different options for what the cover looked like and it helped me pick up the next book in some series that I’m now dying to finish/catch up on.
Sidetracked was for a book with red on the cover. I wasn’t planning on continuing with this series but I wanted a quicker read since the only other book I could have picked up for this was Hideaway. And I’m so happy I did pick this up because I enjoyed it so much more than the first book in the series. They all end on a cliff hanger but this one actually has me wanting to pick up the third book in the series relatively quickly.
I also spun for white cover and I took it as a sign that I was meant to read Hideaway and I am so mad I waited so long to read this. Corrupt, the first book in the series was a bully romance and while I enjoy them, they aren’t my favorite and that one was intense. I liked the romance in this one so much more and I’m so excited to read the next book in the series because I know Douglas is going to more than deliver on the emotions and tension in that book.
I chose Raphael for a shirtless male on the cover and I don’t think I’ve ever read a Tillie Cole book that I haven’t absolutely loved. Her dark romance books are so dark but the emotions and the connection between the couples is incredible. I think there is only one more book currently out in the Deadly Virtues series so I am going to hopefully remember to get caught up next month.

My review for Ruthless Sinner will be up tomorrow.
The Lost Hero was so good. I think I’m enjoying this series more than the first Percy Jackson series.
I never fully clicked with the writing of A House with Good Bones but I really loved the story. Kingfisher is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I need to read more of her backlist but I love the way her brain works and the stories she comes up with.
Currently Reading

I’m over halfway through The Son of Neptune and I’m enjoying this one just as much as the first book in the series. It’s YA instead of middle grade and I like learning more about the Roman gods.
I need a book from a genre that I don’t typically read from and my first two thoughts were poetry and non fiction. I went through my Netgalley books and I found In Defense of Witches. And again I am so annoyed with myself for not reading this sooner. I’m a quarter of the way through and I will be purchasing a physical copy of this book so I can annotate it. This non fiction book is a powerful feminist read that compares how and why women were treated the way they were during the witch trials and how women are still having their rights and autonomy taken away.
I’m hoping to have my review for Silenced up on Thursday. This week is graduation week in my house (elementary and middle school) and then we are going out of town. So things are a bit chaotic and I have a serious issue with quickly reading books and then taking forever to review them. Which is something I want to work on. So fingers crossed that I get this review out on time.
