This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and all you need to do to participate is answer the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What have you recently finished?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Since I missed most of July and I recently posted my July wrap up I’ll just be focusing on books I’ve read the first few days of this month.

What are you currently reading?

Deity is a book I’m only reading at night for Camp Spoopathon so it will take me a couple more days to finish it. I absolutely adore the Six Stories series and this one is no exception.

I’m reading Ben and Beatriz for a blog tour post tomorrow and it’s a Much Ado About Nothing retelling that is fun and fast paced. The story is own voices and set in 2017 so the backdrop of the story is pretty volatile as is the dynamic of the various characters.

I’ve been wanting to read Where They Wait since I saw it on everyone’s reading Goodreads horror nominations videos and I’m currently half way through. I love the direction this story is taking and it is so unsettling because the technology in this story feels like it could be a real thing.

What have you recently finished?

This was a sad story about a teenage girl who is having to run her mom’s laundry business after she died and her dad stays in his room all the time. There’s also a boy who has become a ghost and is having a hard time dealing with that fact. I found the story hard to read at times especially when it came to the bullying aspects but overall it was a wonderful story. My favorite part of this story was the art which was so beautiful with the perfect color palette.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The latest shocking thriller from the best selling author of The Dinner Party

When Leah Talbot hits a deer on a deserted road she spots a light on in a nearby house and approaches, hoping that someone is home.

Martin Tate, a charming and handsome man answers the door to the bedraggled and traumatized Leah, inviting her in. Though she’s not there for long, Leah feels an indescribable pull to the man who has helped in her hour of need.

Returning the next morning to express her gratitude, Leah is shocked by the crime scene tape covering the entryway to the house. The sole occupant of the house had been murdered the night before.

The sole female occupant.
